Car Repair Program |
PS-S seeks mechanics and
local area garages to assist in helping PS-S participants with
basic car repairs and maintenance. |
| |
Special Events & Fundraising |
Volunteers
are critical to the success of our special events. Help is often
needed with silent auction preparations and other activities.
We are currently in the planning stages. Our annual brunch has
been postponed in the interest of promoting the EXPANSION
KICK-OFF BREAKFAST in March. |
| |
Holiday Family Sponsorship |
Each
year businesses and individuals throughout the community sponsor
our participants’ families
for the holidays by purchasing gifts for the families.
Volunteers
can help PS-S staff receive gifts from donors, inventory gifts,
phone participants and distribute gifts to participants during
designated pick-up times. Volunteer hours are needed in late
November and early December. |
| |
Holiday Party |
Each year during the holiday season
PS-S hosts a celebration for participants and their families. This
event includes a visit from Santa Claus, gifts for the parents
and much more.
Volunteers are needed helping organize
and manage the ‘Parents Gifts’ area, event set-up,
event clean-up and other appropriate tasks. Time commitments
average 3 to 4 hours in mid December. |
| |
Other Special Events |
PS-S conducts special events throughout
the year such as our annual Participant Recognition Ceremony in
August and the annual Holiday Party in December.
We welcome
volunteers to assist with these events as well as other potential
events. Time involved ranges from 3 hours to many hours. |

Cars for Families |
PS-S seeks
individuals interested in helping the organization secure donated
cars from individuals and car dealerships. Donated
cars directly benefit the single parents enrolled in the program. Skilled
mechanics are also needed to repair vehicles. |
| |
Marketing Intern |
PS-S
is continually looking for ways to increase the organizations
visibility and ways to reach out to the community. Volunteers and university students are
needed for on-going marketing and communication projects. |
