2016 - United Way of Larimer County Volunteer Hero Award - Financial Stability

Project Self-Sufficiency long-time volunteer of 12 years, Davis Glasgow, wins the Volunteer Hero Award in the Financial Stability category.

2016 - BBB of Northern Colorado and Wyoming Torch Awards for Ethics Nonprofit Winner

Project Self-Sufficiency received recognition demonstrating exemplary organizational ethics as evaluated by the Six Trust! Principles and the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.

2013 - United Way of Larimer County Collaborator of the Year Award

PS-S Awards

Project Self-Sufficiency Executive Director Mary Carraher was honored as the Collaborator of the Year at the 2013 United Way Annual State of the Community celebration. Project Self-Sufficiency Advisor Beth Hicks spoke at the event and shared her story about her path to self-sufficiency.

2012 - Soroptomist Ruby Award

Project Self-Sufficiency Advisor Fran Richburg received the Soroptomist Club's "Ruby Award" for excellence in service to women.

2010 - Women of Distinction Award

Executive Director Mary Carraher was one of 12 women honored in the second year of the awards program by the Northern Colorado Business Report. She was selected for the Nonprofit – Human Services category.

2009 - United Way of Larimer County Bridging the Gap Demonstration Project

Project Self-Sufficiency was the first of two organizations to receive a grant from the new “Bridging the Gap” fund and part of the Pathways Past Poverty initiative. The goal is to show how current Project Self-Sufficiency practices result in lasting change for program participants and how these practices can be applied to the larger community.

2009 - University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work Robert L. Hawkins Achievement Award

This honor was awarded to Executive Director Mary Carraher in recognition of excellence in the field of social work as Executive Director of Project Self-Sufficiency for 20 years. It is awarded annually to a D.U. GSSW alum.

2009 - Making A Difference for Women Award

Soroptimist’ Making a Difference for Women Award was given to 16-year Project Self-Sufficiency Advisor Nicole Gawronski for her work at Project Self-Sufficiency.

2010 - Group Publishing Company Community Service and Educational Services Award

Multiple awards were granted in 2010, 2007, 2005, 2002, 1997, and 1996. In 1997, Project Self-Sufficiency received a major award which included a check for $10,000.

2007 - The Women's Foundation of Colorado Be Bold Award

This honor was given in recognition of services benefiting women and girls in Colorado. It was one of 20 awarded statewide, and the only award for Northern Colorado.

2004 - Community Foundation of Northern Colorado Agency of Distinction Award

This annual award is presented to one organization each year by the foundation.

2002 - El Pomar Foundation Awards for Excellence

Project Self-Sufficiency was one of three statewide finalists in the Human Services / Self-Sufficiency Category, and was nominated again in 2003 and 2004.

2002 - Loveland Reporter-Herald People Who Make a Difference

Project Self-Sufficiency was recognized in the 2002 Special Edition Magazine.

2000 - US West Life is Better Here Volunteer Award

The Project Self-Sufficiency “Car Repair Guys” were recognized as the Best Volunteer Group for Northern Colorado.

2000 - Fort Collins Area United Way Annual Volunteer Award

Best Agency Volunteer: Project Self-Sufficiency Car Repair Volunteer Stewart Mayott.

1996 - Colorado Association of Realtors Statewide Community Service Award

One award was presented, and $1,000 received.
